Leaving NCUMC by bus. Heading to Orlando airport. Excitement in the air.
Many of us just completed a wonderful Bible study on the 23rd Psalm. This is the picture I chose for the theme of the study and for the first chapter - THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD. I am again reminded of the love and care this precious picture represents today, the day before we leave. Satan has done his job - he wants to take this journey with me. I have had a long time shoulder injury (torn rotator cuff) that had been acting up several months ago. I was able to baby it and put it to bed (so to speak) and had no more pain . . . UNTIL last night. Rick and I were sitting at the square listening to music when I reached down to pick up my pocket book (simple movement - nothing out of the norm). THAT WAS IT - I could not move my arm or even lift up my hand. The pain was excruciating. Home we came and I've been icing it and taking pain meds. As you see, this morning, I can now type. I'm asking for your prayers for this to be calmed down for my trip. THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD and I know He will protect me and provide me with comfort. Satan will not win this one!!! The next blog should be us on our way (Karen, Clare, Marie and I). It's hard to believe that we will be leaving in 10 more days. We've been getting ready for quite some time and now it's almost here. We've received info on how much money to bring and how much is needed for tips (driver and tour guide), lunches and of course SOUVENIRS!!! We've received emails telling us if we are already packing . . . DON'T OVER PACK. We have a 45 pound limit which sounded like a lot until I weighed my EMPTY suitcase and IT weighs 11.2 pounds already. Of course, the most important thing is to make sure there's enough room to bring home souvenirs - OTHERWISE there will be a lot of clothes thrown away to make room - HA! I was at Karen's the other day and she was doing a bang up job preparing - as a matter of fact she had "stuff" in her bedroom, in the guest room, in the kitchen - pretty much the same as me. Perhaps tomorrow (Saturday) I will get everything moved into the guest room and go from there. |
AuthorI've had this "journey" on my bucket list for sometime when a friend told me another trip was being scheduled through his church. I immediately signed up and so did a few friends. We will get to "walk where Jesus walked". I've been told the experience will change my life and I will never read the Bible the same way again. I can't wait!!! Archives
